Why these two go together: Say stairs and star slowly. Both begin with the same two letters said as one sound — st. Two letters working as one sound like this are called a blend.
Note about the box: The book prints three lines in each box, but only two pictures belong to each sound. You may use the third line to add one more word of your own.
