Try Again (Eliza Cook) — King Bruce of Scotland, ready to give up, watches a spider fall eight times and climb a ninth. 'He conquered, and why shouldn't I?' The poem is a narrative poem in ABAB rhyme about perseverance. Three Days to See (Helen Keller) — Blind and deaf, Keller imagines being given sight for three days: day one for the people she loves, day two for dawn and the museums, day three for the everyday city.
