Answer
Places VisitedInteresting Descriptions and Activities
1. Thajiwas glacier, Kashmirwhite and blue glaciers; throwing snowballs (given)
2. Himachal PradeshVery quiet; so many mountains visible from the cabin; colourful birds chirping her awake as the Sun rises in the east; the 'bears growling in the west' that turn out to be Appa snoring
3. Arunachal Pradeshwalking through a thick forest to reach the tree house (given) — a forest so thick 'that if you blink or stop to tie your shoelaces, you will get lost'; hoping to see red pandas
4. GujaratThe middle of the desert — 'hot, dry, and there's sand everywhere… like a beach without the sea'; the pretty, colourful clothes; a surprise test from Amma, passed with 88 per cent
5. The Narmada riverRafting with Amma and Appa; the river 'wild and scary' and much faster up close than she expected; she got fully wet and Appa decided never to raft again
6. ChennaiLearning to surf on the way to Puducherry — she fell only twice; Amma and Appa splashing each other 'like children'; rougher waves and browner water than on her island
7. Olaikaadu beachfloating and looking at the fish; Appa and Amma went for a dive (given) — there were no diving suits her size; they collected all sorts of pebbles

Between these she also writes from the Sundarbans in West Bengal (a boat ride on the river, mangroves growing in seawater, crocodiles and a lonely snake) and from Goa (plateaus, hills, beaches and railway tunnels seen from the train window), and crosses the Pamban bridge with the ocean on both sides.

Tip: When a table gives you the description and asks for the place, look for the one unrepeatable detail. 'Tree house' and 'thick forest' can only be the Arunachal postcard; 'no diving suits my size' can only be Olaikaadu.
