This blue sign marks a place kept for a person with a disability — a ramp, a lift, a parking place, a seat in a bus or a train, or a queue at a counter.
Why such places are marked: A person in a wheelchair cannot climb steps. The sign tells everyone, “this way is made easy, and it is kept for the person who needs it.”
Tip: If you see this sign on a seat in a bus, leave that seat free.

The sign tells a driver that here he may turn his vehicle right round and go back the way he came.
Why it is called a U turn: Because the path the vehicle takes is shaped like the letter U. The vehicle ends up facing the opposite way.

Why the red line matters: Compare this sign with the next one. Both show a turning arrow. Only this one has the red line across it, and that one line changes the meaning from “turn here” to “do not turn here”.
Tip: Three of the eleven symbols have a red line across them — no left turn, no honking and no littering. All three are “do not” signs.

The pattern behind the signs: A round sign with a red ring gives an order to drivers. If it has a red line across it, the order is “do not”. A red triangle is a warning. A yellow diamond is a big warning. A blue square gives information.
