The letter (page 25). The Traffic Police of Bharat write to the children. They say some children come to school on foot, some by bicycle and others by bus. Roads are often busy and, at times, dangerous. So they share some safety tips to keep children safe while walking on, or crossing, the streets. Rules 1 to 3 (page 26). Always use the zebra crossing — look for the black and white strip, look right, then left, again right, and cross only when it is safe. Follow the traffic lights — wait for the pedestrian signal to turn green, and never run across the road. Walk on the footpaths — footpaths are meant for pedestrians. Rules 4 to 6 (page 27).
