Answer

This is a speaking game, not a writing exercise. You walk round the class, ask your friends questions, and write a name under each box.

How to do it:

  1. Read one box, for example “Is a good swimmer”.
  2. Turn the box into a question: “Are you a good swimmer?”
  3. Ask a friend. If the answer is yes, write that friend’s name under the box.
  4. Move on to the next friend and the next box.
  5. Try to use a different name in every box, so that you speak to twenty friends.

Here is how to turn each box into a question:

Why the box wording changes when you ask: The box is written about somebody else — “likes art”. When you speak to the person, you say you, so the verb changes: “Do you like art?” That is the little grammar lesson hidden inside this game.
Tip: Speak clearly and look at your friend. Say “thank you” after each answer, even if it was a no.
