1. The Sundarpur villagers clapped for both the teams and the refree lifted the hands of both captains. Why did they do so? Do you agree with them?
They did it to honour both teams for playing a good game. The match was not about one team being better people than the other.
Three reasons they did so:
- Both teams played well. The Green Warriors nearly hit Ravi with the last throw. The match was close right up to the final whistle.
- Both teams played fairly. At the end “the players from both teams shook hands and appreciated each other for a good game”.
- It was a village match. The teams came from two neighbouring villages. Clapping for both keeps the two villages friends.
