Let us create a colourful poster to help Chandan and his friends invite people from their neighbourhood to participate in the Van Mahotsav.
Answer
Do this:
Take a chart paper, sketch pens and colours.
Write the name of the festival in big letters at the top — VAN MAHOTSAV.
Draw a big tree, a small sapling and a watering can. Colour them green and brown.
Write the date and time and the place — for example, 1 July, 8 a.m., the park near our school.
Write one short line that invites people: Come, let us plant a tree together!
At the bottom write who is inviting — your class and your school.
Colour the poster brightly and put it up where many people pass.
A good poster must have these five things: the name of the festival, a picture, the date and time, the place, and one inviting line. If any one is missing, people will not know when or where to come.

Did you know? Van Mahotsav is also called the Tree Planting Festival. It is celebrated every year in India during the rainy season, from 1 July to 7 July. People plant trees to protect the environment and make the earth greener. That is why the rainy season fits so well in the drawing.
