- Look for flowers with bright colours. Note five of them.
- Ask an elder the name people use for each flower in your language.
- Write the common name and the local name side by side.
- Pick one flower you like and draw it. Colour it the way you saw it.
What a correct answer shows: the same flower often has a different name in each state. Palash is called Kesuda in Gujarat and Tesu in many other places.

Why it happens: people in each region name a flower in their own language. So one flower can have many names, but it is still the same flower.
Note about the book: the question asks for five flowers, but the printed table has only three rows. Write three in the book and the last two in your notebook.
Did you know? Palash is called the ‘flame of forest’ because a forest full of these flowers looks reddish-orange from far away.
