- Feel each piece. Is it thin or thick? Soft or hard? Smooth or rough?

Tissue paper is thin, soft and soaks up water, so it cleans well. Cardboard is thick and
hard, so a box made of it does not bend and can hold heavy things.
Tip: use only small pieces of used paper for this activity. Do not tear a
fresh sheet — that would waste paper in a chapter about saving it.
