1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 are all factors of 12. Each of the numbers can divide 12 completely. 12 is a multiple of these numbers. Do you see why 12 is a multiple of 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12?

Yes. 12 is a multiple of each of them because each one divides 12 exactly, with nothing left over.
Think of it as jumping. Start at 0 and take equal jumps. If you land exactly on 12, then your jump size is a factor of 12, and 12 is a multiple of your jump size.

Tip for remembering: Factors are never bigger than the number. Multiples are never smaller than the number.
