Origami is the art of folding objects out of paper to create both two-dimensional and three-dimensional objects. Let us make stick puppets and enact the poem. You may take the help of the pictures given below.

What you need: one orange square and one black square of paper (about 15 cm), a black or brown sketch pen, a little white paper for the eyes, glue or tape, and two ice-cream sticks (or thin twigs).
The Fox — following the six pictures on page 19:
- Fold the orange square in half from corner to corner to make a triangle; curve the two side corners inward so the shape looks like a fan.
- Stick on two round white eyes with black dots, and colour the bottom tip dark brown for the nose.
- Fold the two top corners upward and outward to make the pointed ears; add a small white triangle inside each ear.
- Tape an ice-cream stick to the back — your fox puppet is ready.
The Raven — following the eight pictures in the yellow row:
- Cut from black paper one large oval (body), one small oval (head), a small triangle (beak) and two long leaf shapes (wings and tail).
- Glue the head to the body, then the beak to the head, and add a tiny white paper eye.
- Glue one wing on each side and the pointed tail at the back.
- Tape the second stick behind the body. Cut a small paper circle to be the morsel and tuck it into the beak.
Enacting the poem: One child holds the raven high (standing on a chair or bench) and one holds the fox low. As the Fox speaks his flattery, let the raven puppet turn from side to side. At the words “He opened his beak”, tilt the raven so the paper morsel falls — and let the fox puppet snap it up. Use the puppets again while narrating your story from page 18.
