Step 1 — unjumble the names.
| Jumbled up name | Correct name |
|---|---|
| ocrk | rock |
| refost | forest |
| ndiw | wind |
| atwre | water |
Step 2 — match each picture with its name. In Fig. 11.9 the picture in the last row is a rock, so it matches ocrk. Match the remaining three pictures in your book — trees growing together, something being blown or turned by moving air, and flowing or stored water — with refost, ndiw and atwre.
Step 3 — the new table, with the classification.
| Resource | Renewable / Non-renewable | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Rock | Non-renewable | Takes thousands to millions of years to form; once quarried it is not replaced in our lifetime |
| Forest | Renewable | Trees grow again from seeds and are restored by nature — provided they are given enough time |
| Wind | Renewable | Air keeps moving; using it in a windmill does not use it up |
| Water | Renewable | Nature renews it through the water cycle — evaporation, clouds and rain |
