Using symbols shown in Table 3.2, draw the circuit diagram of an electrical circuit given in Fig. 3.12a and Fig. 3.10c. Are your circuit diagrams similar to Fig. 3.14a and Fig. 3.14b respectively?

Yes — drawn correctly, they come out exactly like Fig. 3.14a and Fig. 3.14b.
(a) A cell, an electric lamp and a switch shown in the OFF position — the circuit diagram of Fig. 3.12a. (b) A battery of two cells and an LED — the circuit diagram of Fig. 3.10c. The LED's triangle points away from the + terminal of the battery, so current can pass and the LED glows.
How to draw them, step by step:
Draw a rectangle of thin straight lines — these are the connecting wires.
Break the top side and put in the lamp symbol (circle with a cross) for Fig. 3.12a, or the LED symbol (triangle and bar) for Fig. 3.10c.
Break the bottom side and put in the cell symbol (Fig. 3.12a) or the battery symbol of two cells (Fig. 3.10c). Keep the long line on the + side.
For Fig. 3.12a also break the bottom side once more for the switch, drawn in the 'OFF' position because that is how Fig. 3.12a shows it.
For the LED, check that the triangle points away from the + terminal of the battery — otherwise the LED would not glow.
