Yes — it is the small round mirror on a long handle that the dentist slips inside the mouth. It is a concave mirror.

Held very close to a tooth, a concave mirror gives an image that is erect and enlarged, so a tiny cavity or crack shows up big enough to examine. The long handle also lets the dentist look at the back of a tooth, which cannot be seen directly at all.

Why it must be held close: a concave mirror only enlarges while the object is nearer than a certain distance. Move it back and the picture would flip and shrink — useless for the dentist. That is why the mirror is kept almost touching the tooth.
