B. Point out the eight differences between the two pictures given below.
The two pictures on page 88 — what is in them: The book prints the
same full-colour painting twice, one above the other. In each painting three children are playing
with a ball on a grassy hill. A girl in a red top and blue jeans stands on the left and holds a
balloon on a string. A boy in a yellow t-shirt and blue shorts is in the middle, jumping in the
air, with the ball just above his head. A boy in a red t-shirt and white shorts stands on the
right with his arms out. Behind them are brown hills, a leafy tree, some tall pointed trees, a
sun, a cloud and a bird. Eight small things in the lower picture are not the same as in the
upper one.
A short description of the two paintings on page 88, because the book prints them as
full-colour art. Look at your own book to find the eight changes.

How to hunt for differences: Do not stare at the whole picture at once. Divide
it into parts and check one part at a time — first the sky, then the hills and trees, then each
child from head to shoe, then the grass at the bottom. Working in order is how you find all eight
instead of only four.
Tip: Most changes are of three kinds — something has
changed colour (the balloon), something has gone missing (the bird, the cloud, the tree,
the stone, the flower, the sock), or something has lost a detail (the stripe on the t-shirt).
Look for those three kinds and you will not miss much.
