How to find the order: Look for the words that mark time. A match always begins
with a whistle, so that sentence is 1. Shaking hands and celebrating happen
only after the match is over, so they are 6 and 7. Everything in between goes in the middle.
Two mistakes in the book’s sentences — do not copy them:
- Sentences 3 and 6 say Nidhi took the first shot and threw the ball. The story says it was Deepa: “The referee blew the whistle and Deepa took the first shot.”
- Sentence 1 says the villagers lifted the hands of both captains. The story says the Refree did: “The Refree lifted the hands of both the captains.” The villagers clapped and cheered.
