8591 − 6415
Ones: 1 − 5 cannot be done → take 1 ten, 11 − 5 = 6

= 2176

2176 more visitors came in December than in November.

Why it happens: Taking November’s count away from December’s count leaves only the extra visitors.

2107 + 3364
Ones: 7 + 4 = 11 → write 1, carry 1 ten

Now compare with passion fruit, which has 4781 bottles.

5471 is bigger than 4781
5471 − 4781 = 690

Guava and orange together are more — 690 bottles more than passion fruit.

Why it happens: 5471 and 4781 both have 4 digits, so we compare the thousands first. 5 thousands beat 4 thousands.
