About this chapter
In the NIM game you add 1 or 2 each turn. The player who says 10 first wins. In the addition chart every box is row number + column number . Each row is a line of numbers that go up by one. Reverse and add: a 2-digit number plus its reverse is always a number in the 11 table. 10 ones make 1 ten, 10 tens make 1 hundred, 10 hundreds make 1 thousand. That is how we carry while adding. ‘A has 341 more than B’ means add to get A and subtract to get B. Easy ways help: to take away 99, take away 100 and then put 1 back.
