Q1.
Make floor patterns with your tile. Mini has made a floor pattern as shown below. Remember there should be no overlaps and no gaps.Mini’s floor pattern.
Answer
Mini has laid the same box-shaped tile again and again in a long row.
Mini’s floor pattern — the same tile slid along, with no gaps and no overlaps.
Choose one tile, such as three rhombuses joined into a box.
Trace it once on the grid.
Slide it sideways by exactly one tile and trace it again.
Start the next row so that its tiles fit into the dips of the row above.
Sample answer: I traced my box tile 8 times in a row and 3 rows down. The floor was filled with no gaps.
Why it happens: Sliding a tile does not change its size or shape, so the new copy fits exactly against the old one.
Tip: If a gap appears, you have slid the tile too far. Move it back until the two edges touch.
