Answer
Mini’s walk on the grid: first to the right, then left and up.
She reaches the cat.
Mini had first taken 4 steps to the right from START.
1 step → Row 1, Column 1 2 steps → Row 1, Column 2
3 steps → Row 1, Column 3 4 steps → Row 1, Column 4 (the orange)
Now 2 steps to the left: Column 4 → 3 → 2. She is at Row 1, Column 2.
Now 1 step upwards: Row 1 → Row 2. She is at Row 2, Column 2.
Row 2, Column 2 has the cat.
Why it happens: Going left changes only the column number. Going up changes only the row number. So we can work out each move one at a time.

What object did Jagat think of?The 4×4 grid of the treasure hunt. The rows are numbered 1 to 4 from the bottom and the columns 1 to 4 from the left. START is just outside the grid.

The last two steps of the treasure hunt, drawn on the grid.
Jagat thought of the mango.
Mini is standing on the cat — Row 2, Column 2.
Jagat says, “Now, you are still 2 steps away.”
1 step right → Row 2, Column 3
1 step up → Row 3, Column 3 — and there is the mango.
Check the first clue too: from the orange (Row 1, Column 4) the mango is up, up, left = 3 steps, just as Jagat said.
Why it happens: Each clue cuts down the choices. When only one object is exactly 2 steps away, that must be the one Jagat thought of.
