School bus and metro train. The bus comes to my lane and takes 20 minutes.Bicycle, and a city bus for longer trips. About 30 minutes.Walked to school every day. A bullock cart or a train for far-off places.

What you will find: the older the person, the more they walked. Faster and easier ways of travelling have come one after another — bicycle, bus, car, metro.

Tip: also ask what the road looked like then. Many of our elders grew up with kutcha roads and no street lights.
