Answer
Do this activity with your teacher for one whole week.
Sit or stand on a mat in an open, airy place.
Do each pose slowly, and only as far as it feels comfortable.
Stay in the pose while you count slowly up to ten. Keep breathing normally.
Come out of the pose slowly. Never pull or jerk your body.
Write one line in your notebook every day about how you felt.
The book does not print the names of the three poses. They are:
Pose 1 — Vajrasana: sitting on your heels with your back straight.
Pose 2 — Vrikshasana (tree pose): standing on one leg, the other foot resting against the inner thigh, hands joined in front of the chest.
Pose 3 — Sukhasana: sitting cross-legged with the hands resting on the knees.
Sample answer: “Day 1 — I could not stand on one leg for long and I wobbled. Day 4 — I stayed in the tree pose while counting to ten. Day 7 — My back felt straighter, and I felt calm and fresh after the poses.”
Why: Physical activities like yoga improve our posture, and keep us happy and active. Doing them every day is what makes the difference, not doing them once.
