Tanu arranged 7 shapes in a line. She used 2 squares, 2 triangles, 1 circle, 1 hexagon, and 1 rectangle. Find her arrangement using the following clues: (a) The square is between the circle and the rectangle. (b) The rectangle is between the square and the triangle. (c) The two triangles are next to the square. (d) The hexagon is to the right of the triangle. (e) The circle is to the left of the square.

How to work it out, one clue at a time
Start with clue (e): the circle is to the left of a square. So somewhere we have circle, then square.
Add clue (a): a square sits between the circle and the rectangle. So the beginning is circle, square, rectangle.
Add clue (b): the rectangle sits between that square and a triangle. So next comes a triangle: circle, square, rectangle, triangle.
Add clue (c): the two triangles are next to a square. The triangle we just placed is not next to the first square, so the second square must be used — put it after the triangle, and put the second triangle after that: circle, square, rectangle, triangle, square, triangle.
Add clue (d): the hexagon is to the right of a triangle. Place it last: circle, square, rectangle, triangle, square, triangle, hexagon.
