3 ÷ 4 = 3/4 glass

Why it works: cut every glass into 4 quarters. There are 3 × 4 = 12 quarters, and 12 ÷ 4 = 3 quarters for each friend, that is 3⁄4 glass.

Measure both fish with the same fractional unit, 1⁄4 kg.

1/2 = 2/4
