Same: it is tall, it gets narrower as it goes up, and it is made of
storey upon storey, just like the Qutub Minar.
Different: the real Qutub Minar is round like a tall cylinder, while
the model is made of square boxes with sharp corners.
Why it happens: Blocks have flat faces and sharp corners, so a
round tower cannot be copied exactly with them.

What shape would you use if you made a model of the Qutub Minar? Why?...............………………….

I would use cylinders.
The Qutub Minar is round all the way around, and a cylinder is round all the
way around too.
A cylinder has two flat circular faces, so one cylinder sits steadily on another.
I would take a wide cylinder at the bottom and thinner ones above it, so the tower
becomes narrower as it goes up.
Tip: Empty round tins, bangles of paper, or rolled paper
tubes make good cylinders for this model.
Why it happens: A model looks real when each part is made of the
solid that has the same shape as that part.

Why it happens: The book tells us the Qutub Minar has 5 storeys,
and each storey is one round band, so one cylinder models one storey.

tallest building made of bricks. It has 5 storeys and 379 stairs.

All of them are cuboids — box shapes.
Each one has 6 flat faces, 12 edges
and 8 corners.
Every face is a rectangle, and the opposite faces are the same.
Because the faces are flat, one brick sits firmly on another with no gap.
Why it happens: Flat faces touch each other fully, so a wall of
cuboid bricks does not wobble. That is why bricks of clay, stone, wood and concrete are
all made in this same box shape.
