About this chapter

Most years have 365 days. A leap year has 366 days, because February gets 29 days instead of 28. Leap years come after every four years — 2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036. A week has 7 days, so the same weekday comes back after 7 days, 14 days and 21 days. A date written as DD/MM/YYYY tells the day, the month and the year: 04/07/2024 is 4 July 2024. A day has 24 hours — 12 hours from 6 o’clock morning to 6 o’clock evening, and 12 more till the next morning. AM is used from midnight to noon and PM from noon to midnight. A digital clock shows 1:00 PM as 13:00 hours. 1 hour = 60 minutes, half an hour = 30 minutes, a quarter hour = 15 minutes, three quarters = 45 minutes. On a clock the short thick hand shows the hour and the long thin hand shows the minutes.
