Answer
ProblemAnswer
30 × 10 = 30 Tens300
40 × 10 = 40 Tens400
70 × 10 = 70 Tens700
50 × 10 = 50 Tens500
60 × 10 = 60 Tens600

Q2.
Let us find the number of people who can travel in 26 tempo travellers. 26 × 10 = ______ travellers.
Answer
26 × 10 = 26 Tens
26 Tens = 20 Tens + 6 Tens
= 200 + 60
= 260 travellers

Note: The English book does not print the seat number; it is given in the picture and in the Hindi edition — 10 people per tempo traveller.

Q4.
A small bus can seat 20 people. How many people can be seated in 12 buses?
Answer

We have to find 12 × 20. There are three easy ways.

Way 1: 12 × 20 = 10 × 20 and 2 × 20 = 200 + 40 = 240
Way 2: 12 × 20 = 12 × 10 and 12 × 10 = 120 + 120 = 240
Way 3: 12 × 20 = 12 × 2 Tens = 24 Tens = 240

240 people can be seated in 12 buses.

Why it happens: 20 is 2 tens. Twelve twos are 24, so twelve twenties are 24 tens.
