Answer
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
The nine pictures of question 3, numbered 1 to 9 in the order they are printed in the book.

Name each thing first. Then ask yourself, “Where must I stand to see it like this?”

No.NameViewHow we know
1TelevisionFront viewWe are looking straight at the screen.
2SofaFront viewWe see both arms and the seat from the front.
3Slipper (chappal)Top viewWe are looking down on the whole sole and the straps.
4Pan (frying pan)Top viewThe pan looks like a full circle, so we are above it.
5School busBack viewThe words STOP and CHILDREN ON BOARD and the tail lights are on the back of a school bus.
6ChairSide viewWe see only one pair of legs, and the seat looks like a line.
7PencilTop viewWe see the six-sided end with the lead in the middle.
8Pizza cutterSide viewThe round blade shows as a full circle with the handle at its side.
9HelmetSide viewWe see the shape of one side and the glass in front of the face.
Why it happens: A round thing looks like a circle only when we look straight down on it or straight at it. A tall thing shows its height from the front and the side, but not from the top.
Tip: Picture 5 is drawn straight on. Some children read it as the front of the bus. Look for the writing STOP — CHILDREN ON BOARD: that board is always painted on the back.
