How to decide, word by word. Ask this one question: can I put it in front of me and use my five senses on it?
- A rose — I can see it, touch it and smell it. So circle it.
- Sugar and toffee — I can taste them. Circle them.
- The sun — I can see it and feel its warmth. Circle it.
- Joy — I can feel joy inside me, but I cannot hold it in my hand, put it on the table, or show it to you. Do not circle it.
- Truth and lie — these are ideas about what someone says. You cannot touch them. Do not circle them.
