Q1.
You heard children from different states speak about the art forms from their state. Discuss in pairs which art form you liked the most. Now, write a paragraph with five sentences giving your reasons for liking it.
Answer

Plan the five sentences before you write:

  1. Name the art form you liked most and the state it comes from.
  2. Say in one line what it is made of or how it is made.
  3. Give your first reason for liking it.
  4. Give your second reason.
  5. Close with a wish — what you would like to do about it.
Sample answer:

Of all the art forms in the lesson, I liked Dhokra from Odisha the most. In Dhokra a clay figure is covered with wax, the fine details are carved on the wax, and hot brass is poured in after the wax melts away. I liked it because a single figure passes through clay, wax, fire and metal before it is finished, and each stage needs great patience. I also liked the thought that Priyaranjan's tribe has been making these figures for four thousand years, so every brass elephant carries a piece of very old history. If I ever visit Odisha, I would like to sit beside a Dhokra artist and watch a whole figure being made from beginning to end.

Checklist: exactly five sentences; the name of the craft and its state; at least two clear reasons beginning with “because” or “I liked it as…”; capital letters and full stops.
