Anant — the hockey player. “Active boy Anant, / plays the game of hockey, / even when the ground is rocky.” He does not stop playing just because the ground is uneven. Geeta — the skater. “Graceful girl Geeta, / practices on her skates, / and learns daily from her mistakes.” She falls, she learns, and she practises again the next day. Lhamo and his friend — the music makers. “Little boy Lhamo, / proudly plays a guitar, / while his friend joins him with a sitar.” Two instruments are named in the poem: the guitar and the sitar .
