A Homage to Our Brave Soldiers is made of two letters. In the first, Soumya of Bengaluru writes to her friend Ananda in Chandigarh about a school trip to the National War Memorial in New Delhi — its 40 acres near India Gate, its 29,000 tablets bearing more than 26,000 names, and the citations of Lance Naik Albert Ekka (PVC) and Major Padmapani Acharya (MVC) .
